Saling Acts; Following an Ancient Voyage If you like to travel, like to sail, or just enjoy reading about other peoples travels and adventures you will like this book. Linford Stutzman, along with his wife Janet, takes us on a fifteen month journey visiting all the ports that the apostle Paul encountered on his journey to bring the Christian faith to the gentiles. Stutzman, religious professor at Eastern Mennonite University, shares with the reader the challenges he faced along the way, getting time off, buying the boat, getting it sea worthy, dealing with faceless government officials and customs agents. This book reads like a part inspirational devotional, part travel log, always interesting adventure. Highly Recommended Wilderness Path A story set in the 1740s that begins as German immigrants arrive in Penn’s Woods and the Lenape Indians move west. Woven through the novel are three fictional paths: those of Hannah, a young Mennonite woman; Thomas, a Catholic priest; and the Lenape, Sun Rising. The forest had lived in silence for a thousand years. Sun Rising did not see the bearded man take his axe to cut down the first tree in the Lenape forest. Had he seen the axe fall he would have felt great pain because that blow changed the forest and his life forever. Clopper and the Night Travelers A very cute donkey tells the story of Jesus' birth from his unique perspective. He is privileged to be present at the stable that night long ago. But wait! … the adventure has just begun as Clopper accompanies and transports Jesus and his family across Bible lands. A Christmas book which extends beyond the season, showing what a special baby Jesus is and how each of us is privileged to serve him. |
