WORKSHOPS:

Mountain Dulcimer (Student’s Choice) for intermediate/advanced players – taught by Aubrey Atwater.
Aubrey will let the class decide the focus such as: fingerpicking, playing with three- or four-equally distant stings, playing chords to draw out the melody, songs of Jean Ritchie, playing in different tunings, specific songs such as "Spanish Lady", "The Willow Tree", and much more as a time allows.

Mountain Dulcimer for beginner’s – taught by Elwood Donnelly
Elwood will teach brand new players to tune to DAD and then cover simple songs with a few chords as well as the technique of playing with the noter, simple strumming, and a fingerpicking pattern or two.  Elwood is great at working with new players, making them feel comfortable, and using humor in the workshop.  People should come equipped with a dulcimer, and whatever accessories they might have such as picks, noter, fingerpicks, strap, electronic tuner, etc.  Songs Elwood will cover will likely include "Buckeyed Rabbit", "Little Birdie", "Someone to Love Me", and "500 Miles."

Hammered Dulcimer - ("Chording Old Time Tunes") for intermediate/advanced - taught by Saverio Minicucci.  We'll talk and play some of our favorite old timey tunes and learn how to apply chords for back up or to embellish it.  Sorry reader, no sheet music will be given out.  It's all play and repeat, so feel free to bring a recorder.

Autoharp – beginners – taught by Obie.  Focus will be on keys, chords and the circle of fifths for beginners.
